Slide 3 of 5. Until now, computers have been used mainly as sources of information. But no-one learns much by having the Encyclopaedia Britannica thrown at them. When computers are used e.g. for internet research, the main learning continues to occur in the conversation with the teacher. This model does little to help the teacher or deliver productivity gains over traditional methods.
