Pricing

Engage is priced on an annual subscription, priced according to the number of students entered onto the Engage platform. The price includes:

 
 

 

  
Unrestricted installation of client programs both at school and elsewhere, such as at the homes of students and teachers.
Unlimited use of the Engage database for student data, such as assignment, performance, competency, bookmarking, preferences etc.
Up to 10 MB per student in their personal storage space on the Engage repository for storage of files.
Storage on the Engage repository for hosting of private, teacher-authored content. See below for details.
 

 

  
Unlimited hosting of Teacher-authored content which is advertised for use by other schools.
Unlimited access to free content on the Engage repository. This includes content such as BBC Jam materials, sample content provided by commercial publishers, and shareable content provided by other schools.
On-site training. We will provide a trainer at a mutually convenient time to introduce your staff to the system. See below for details.
Unlimited teacher logons.
 
 

The cost of the subscription depends on the number of student licenses you buy. This does not need to reflect the total number of students in your school, but only the number of students you wish to give access to the Engage platform.

(1) Teachers who author or assemble their own content may upload this onto the Engage servers. In doing so, they must decide whether to provide keywords and classification data which makes the content useable by other teachers. Only content which is not shared is counted against the private content storage space.

Technical

All the Alpha Engage clients require:

Microsoft Windows 98 or later.
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 or later.
200 MHz Intel Pentium processor
64 MB available system memory (128MB recommended)

For the student Launcher program alone:
12MB available disk space.

For full client installation:
64 MB available disk space.

The Engage Servers are hosted on the latest dual core 2.8Ghz Xeon machines with 100Mbs connections to the internet.
