BETT 2008

Alpha Learning will be giving away its new "Sphinx" QTI assessment engine on stand Q32 at Bett 2008. Make sure you come and visit us and pick up your free disk (as well as a pack of Alpha Learning playing cards - complete with a card trick to baffle your friends!).

As in previous years, the Alpha Learning Stand will be laid out as a presentation theatre and we shall be giving presentations every 45 minutes, covering Sphinx and Engage. Every day at 3 p.m. there will be a non-commercial presentation on SALTIS and interoperablity.

European Commission asked to investigate Becta's Learning Platform Procurement

Alpha Learning as asked the European Commission to investiage Becta's Learning Platform Procurement on the grounds that it breaches European regulations on public procurement. Mandatory conditions for interoperability, specified in the contract notice, were not enforced when Becta realized that no-one would meet them. Full details with supporting documentation here.

Update

The wheels of the Commission move slowly! The complaint has moved steadily through the various stages of pre-qualification during the year and the Commission is now consulting the UK government, prior to deciding whether to open an infringement procedure.
