Sequencing:
simplicity and extensibility
A
white paper written in the context of the LETSI
workshop on SCORM 2.0, held in October 2008. The ideas
in this paper, along with other papers on the LETSI
wiki addressing sequencing, are under active consideration
in the LETSI sequencing workgroup.

A
critique of Becta's policy on Learning Platforms
This
paper was written in June 2006 in the context of Becta's
contentious Learning Services framework procurement.
It was not published until January 2007, when its foreboding
about the procurement was fulfilled. Although its polemical
character is no longer appropriate, it nevertheless
provides a useful and relatively detailed exposition
of the importance of standards for content interoperability.
It keeps its place on the website until a more up-to-date
description of a strategy for interoperability can take
its place in early 2009.

The
importance of content interoperability
The
text of a speech made to the European Educaton Partnership's
(EEP) conference on learning platforms, held in October
2006. It is subject to the same caveat regarding its
historical context as the critique above, but
is still useful as a short, non-technical statement
of the argument for content interoperability.

Tutorial:
SCORM 1.2 and Flash
This
is a tutorial created some time ago as an introduction
to using the SCORM runtime with Macromedial Flash. It
has proved reasonably popular and we shall be supplementing
and updating it soon.
